Terms of Service

Effective June 1, 2026 · Northstar Goods LLC, a Delaware limited liability company operating from Encinitas, California

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of nsgoods.shop and any purchase from Northstar Goods LLC, a Delaware limited liability company operating from Encinitas, California ("NorthStar," "we," "us"). By using the site or placing an order, you agree to these Terms.

1. Eligibility & Account

You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority in your jurisdiction, and capable of forming a binding contract to purchase from NorthStar. By ordering, you represent that you meet this requirement and that the information you provide is accurate.

If you create a waitlist or membership account, you are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your credentials and for all activity under your account. Notify us immediately if you believe your account has been compromised.

2. Products, Pricing & Availability

NorthStar sells three categories of goods: (a) studio-made fine jewelry designed and produced by NorthStar; (b) sourced rare objects including authenticated pre-owned luxury handbags, antiques, art, and artisan works; and (c) digital styling guides and curation services. These categories carry different terms, and you should read the relevant section before purchasing.

All products are subject to availability. Many pieces are made to order or limited in quantity, and quantities shown may change. Prices are in U.S. dollars, exclusive of applicable taxes, duties, and shipping unless stated otherwise, and may change at any time before an order is placed.

We make every effort to display products and prices accurately, but errors may occur. If we discover a pricing or description error on an item you have ordered, we may cancel the order and refund any amount charged.

3. Product Descriptions & Authentication

We describe pieces accurately, including provenance, condition, materials, and measurements. Photography is representative, but colors, textures, and finishes may vary slightly from screen to screen; we do not consider minor photographic variance a misdescription.

For sourced luxury goods, authentication is completed before listing. Where a recognized third-party authenticator exists for the category — such as GIA for gemstones — we route through them and documentation is available on request; where no such body exists, we publish the full chain of custody available to us. Authentication documentation does not confer any warranty beyond what is stated in the listing.

Condition grading uses the following scale, disclosed on each listing: Pristine (unworn or equivalent to new), Excellent (minimal signs of use), Very Good (light wear consistent with careful use), and Good (noticeable wear, fully disclosed). Wear inherent to a piece’s age or previous use is not a defect.

4. Orders, Payment & Sale Finality

Payment is processed securely by Stripe at the time of order; we never store your full card details. Submitting an order is an offer to purchase, and an order confirmation email constitutes our acceptance. We reserve the right to decline or cancel any order at our discretion — including if a piece has been sold, if there is a suspected listing error, or if payment cannot be verified — and will provide a full refund in such cases. For made-to-order pieces, your card is charged immediately, production commences at that time, and the lead time shown on the product page is an estimate, not a guarantee.

Sale finality by category: made-to-order fine jewelry is final once production begins (immediately upon confirmation); sourced luxury handbags and rare objects are final sale, with pre-purchase inquiries encouraged; antiques and artisan works may be returned within 5 days of delivery; digital products are final upon delivery; and bespoke commission work is final once a production agreement is confirmed in writing.

5. Digital Products

Digital styling guides are delivered as PDF files upon purchase and are licensed to you for personal, non-commercial, non-transferable use. You may not resell, redistribute, reproduce, or publish any portion of them without our written permission. Because digital guides are delivered immediately, they are non-refundable once accessed or downloaded, except where required by law.

The NorthStar Curation service ($300) delivers a bespoke PDF prepared specifically for you based on the photos and information you submit. By submitting photos, you grant us a limited license to use them solely for preparing your curation; we do not share, publish, or otherwise use them. Once you have submitted your photos and we have begun work, the fee is non-refundable.

6. Shipping & Risk of Loss

Shipping terms are described in our Shipping Policy. Physical items ship via insured carrier, and title and risk of loss pass to you upon delivery to the carrier. We are not responsible for delays, damage, or loss caused by the carrier after handoff, though we will assist with carrier claims. For damage in transit, see our Returns & Damage policy.

International buyers are responsible for all customs duties, import taxes, and associated fees. We declare accurate values on customs forms and do not mark packages as gifts or undervalue items. Refused or unclaimed international shipments are not eligible for refund.

7. Returns

Returns and exchanges are governed by our Returns, Exchanges & Damage Claims policy, incorporated into these Terms by reference. In short, most NorthStar pieces are final sale; returns are accepted on antiques and artisan works within 5 days, and all other categories are subject to the specific exceptions described in the Returns Policy. In all cases, items must be returned in the same condition as shipped.

8. Intellectual Property

All content on this site — including text, designs, photography, styling guides, and the NorthStar name and marks — is owned by NorthStar or its licensors and is protected by law. You may not copy, reproduce, or use it without our written permission.

Brand names of third-party goods (Hermès, Chanel, and others) are the property of their respective owners. Reference to these brands is for descriptive purposes only and does not imply endorsement by or affiliation with those brands.

9. Acceptable Use

You agree not to misuse the site, attempt to access it in unauthorized ways, interfere with its operation, or use it for any unlawful purpose.

10. Disclaimers

The site and products are provided "as is" to the fullest extent permitted by law. We disclaim all warranties not expressly stated, including implied warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose. Nothing in these Terms limits any non-waivable rights you have under California law.

Estimated investment or resale value of any piece is not guaranteed; luxury goods markets fluctuate, and nothing on this site constitutes investment advice. Third-party authentication documentation reflects the opinion of the authenticator at the time of assessment, which we rely on in good faith and cannot independently guarantee.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, NorthStar will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of this site or any purchase, even if advised of the possibility of such damages. Our total liability for any claim relating to a product is limited to the amount you paid for that product.

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations of liability; in those jurisdictions, our liability is limited to the greatest extent permitted by law.

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless NorthStar from claims arising out of your breach of these Terms or your misuse of the site.

13. Dispute Resolution & Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. (Northstar Goods LLC is formed in Delaware; the governing-law choice is subject to final confirmation by counsel.)

We ask that you contact us first at hello@nsgoods.shop before initiating any formal dispute; most issues can be resolved quickly through direct communication, and we will respond within 2 business days. If a dispute cannot be resolved informally, both parties agree to resolve it through binding arbitration administered under the rules of a nationally recognized arbitration body, on an individual basis. Class action or representative proceedings are not permitted under these Terms. Nothing in this section prevents either party from seeking emergency injunctive relief in a court of competent jurisdiction located in California.

14. Changes

We may update these Terms from time to time. The effective date below reflects the most recent revision, and the version in effect at the time of your purchase governs that transaction. Continued use of the site after changes constitutes acceptance.
